The customer is involved in the nuclear industry providing engineering for the entire power plant. In addition, they furnish equipment for repair and maintenance of the facilities. One of the inspection tools is required to probe inside the reactor coolant tubes. The connection between the motor and sensor must have the ability to turn and flex while verifying the condition of the tube.
The final design allows for 35 degrees of angularity while transmitting the torque and motion necessary for the sensor to perform its function. The attachment is the normal two set screws at each end, but on the very end there is another set screw.
